As usual, the real number is well above 2,000, but they do not count perma-temps, contractors, "voluntary" redundancies etc.
This isn't about them taking over a company. Many are impacted who are in no way arriving from an outside entity.
They will try to belittle the thing by painting it as culling/eliminating overlapping roles. There are also entire products and projects canceled now. So that contradicts that former hypothesis.
