Microsoft Windows: Security Patches for a Fee. Flee to GNU/Linux (Many Already Do).
THE "market share" of Windows is diminishing in many countries as Android becomes increasingly dominant because more people in Asia and Africa get connected, typically not with a laptop or a desktop.
Those who do go online with a laptop or a desktop are still using Windows most of the time (the OEMs don't give any other choice), but more people then convert those laptops or desktops to GNU/Linux, based on this month's numbers, which we've sorted in ascending order:
The numbers on the left are Windows share and on the right it is GNU/Linux, not including ChromeOS.
This represents a significant shift from Microsoft on over 90% of computers to a lot less and it destroys Windows' business prospects - to the point where Microsoft wants to start charging for Windows security patches. Windows revenue has collapsed. █
