It's Not Impossible That a Desperate West Will Try to Ban Chinese Developers From Kernel Development (or Curtail Linux Freedom With Some Superficial Limitations and/or Back Doors)
They already did this to Russians and to Linux, so why stop there?
THE latest Daily Links batch spoke of "Apple Trouble in China", but the same is true for Microsoft. The sister site notes that it's mostly GNU/Linux growing there.
What does this truly mean? That the US governmet or NATO will try to block "access" by China to some RISC-V "technology" or so-called 'IP'? That it will compel the Linux Foundation to halt participating of Chinese developers and companies? Don't count/rule it out. It certainly seems like there was already some pushback, based on a press release. Linux would be harmed a lot by sanctions that did not impair China because it has full access to everything, from production to design (Taiwan is not entirely disconnected or detached from Beijing's reach).
Is this a prediction? Maybe, but certainly not a hope.
