THE new server is coping with the load of requests very well (no latencies/overheads), owing primarily to all sites being 100% static. No PHP anymore!
Yesterday the sites served nearly a million requests (apache2 reports about 910k, agate reports about 8.5k in Gemini) and we hope the numbers will increase over time, just like the total size of the sites. We've been very active lately despite tidying up and coding at the same time. We still try to make things even more efficient.
The video above focuses on why Social Control Media or Social Control Networks tend to be a waste of time and a very dangerous trap. YouTube, for instance, is known to be not only censoring many views/videos but also imposing a notorious regime of self-censorship (for fear of "strikes"). Some have outsourced to TikTok as well, mistaking it for the opposite of what it truly is. Some people mistake such sites for "media" and "audience" rather than state-connected threats to the media they deem "hostile". YouTube is not a good yardstick for popularity because people buy fake "views" and "subscribers" there (to fake their "reach" to advertisers). SPAMnil does this for the Linux Foundation, to name just one example that we covered here before [1, 2]. What used to be Muktware became a YouTube channel and splog (spam blog) with press releases. Over 90% of the "views" are fake (bots), but it's all about defrauding companies. He has not changed his ways. YouTube seems not to mind because it makes YouTube look or 'feel' a lot bigger than it actually is, begetting "FOMO". █
