The Great Achievements of Humanity
The idea has been lurking in the recesses of my mind for multitudinous epochs now, but it's just at this moment that I shall come out and state it. I have no interest in human history *in general*. Walking around the *Valle dei Templi* yesterday sealed the idea in stone. Fossilized it, even, and given the multitudinous fossils embedded in the once sunken remains of rock near Agrigento, it's an apt analogy.
What most would term *history* in the "educational sense" has little to offer me. Mostly my disinterest revolves around the "great achievements" of humanity. In contrast, geological and astronomical history do still have something to offer to my weary mind and I will likely be found on one of my many deathbeds perusing various tomes concerning those topics. The overall achievement of our species seems diminished in contrast to their grandeur. Or at least to their SPAN.

I've returned
I just want to say that I value this place quite a lot. Even though I very rarely say anything (especially recently because I forgot my password), I still read everything. I've been thinking of what community means to me: it's a place I feel welcome in, and a place I think about when I'm not there. Thanks for being that for me.

Some thoughts and, yet even more thoughts
So, it's been a while, truly I don't know why I'm writing this, I'm tired, very very tired (physically), but I felt like I wanted to write my thoughts out.
Recently life hasn't been too great, it's not horrid don't get me wrong, I hung out more this week with my friends than I ever had before yet, something still feels empty inside me. Like yeah sure, I went out, had a great time and all, but after (and during) the hangout, I just felt... sad? Not really sad no, I just sorta felt empty, its weird, but such is life.

April 4, 2024 - Thursday of Easter Week(W)
They praised with one accord Thy victorious hand, O Lord, alleluia; for wisdom opened the mouth of the dumb, and made the tongues of infants eloquent, alleluia, alleluia.
Psalm: Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle, for He hath done wonderful things.
Glory be to the Father. They praised with one accord Thy victorious hand, O Lord, alleluia; for wisdom opened the mouth of the dumb, and made the tongues of infants eloquent, alleluia, alleluia.

Juggle + a couple mentions
It is no secret that I am quite disperse, and would like to know EVERYTHING! I am cursed with a faustian curiosity. At any one time in my life I can hold a total of 3 subjects in my mind, which I can juggle as I switch between them, though it does get exhausting after a while, but having less ends up being annoying when I get tired of reading the same thing. So it is that I open my reading app and under the "Currently reading" menu I have a number of books pertaining to two or three different subjects, sometimes tangentially related, so that they can at least reinforce each other. So it is that right now it is Mathematics and Occultism, while also keeping alive the focus on Chinese (wasn't I learning Russian too? I am already looking into Ancient Greek (again), all due to influence from occult writers!)

4th April 2024 - Berlin Day 1
Well actually day 1.5. I flew from Birmingham airport to Berlin airport yesterday. It was a late flight, leaving at 1800 UTC +1 and arriving at 2045 UTC+2. Easyjet were surprisingly good. The aircraft was comfortable and I felt like I had more space than with other discount airlines. Might be due to the A320 over the Boeing 737. Anyhow, yesterday was just travel and a quick visit to the corner shop for water, beer and some paprika crisps.

I Bought a New Old Laptop
A 2016 Dell Latitude 7370 with a 13.3″ 3200×1800 display, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, and a two core Intel Core m7-6Y57 CPU with hyper-threading clocked at 1.2 to 3.1 GHz. It’s from the low-power CPU range they sold in different iterations from 2015 to 2018, and the reason I bought it.
I wanted to have a modern laptop, which is no the fastest, but has high-quality components to potentially be used as the main device. The point is to be more mindful of resource usage when building websites and applications. And a very high pixel-per-inch display in a fanless design is a huge step closer to a MacBook-like computing experience. It runs Linux with Wayland.

Thinking about abandoning the smartphone
Recently i am more and more thinking about my phone. Yeah, on the one hand those things are pretty amazing, on the other hand... well, my inner tinfoil hat has his doubts. Its also a thing regarding focus:
Even after leaving reddit (and blocking it on networks i use) i still cannot overcome this urge to reach out to the smartphone the moment i feel somewhat bored. It... bothers me, just a tad too much. So i am currently thinking about my options.
