THE Australians, on average, are falling out of love with Microsoft. The company fired a huge number of Australians last year - a lot more than the international average [1, 2] - and we're finally seeing large dips for Windows:
Historically Australia was quite a stronghold for Microsoft (we saw a lot of that in the OOXML battle; Microsoft even bribed Australians to manipulate Wikipedia on this topic). One can hope that Australians will learn to reject both Apple and Microsoft (same issue in Japan) and find freedom-respecting platforms instead. The penguin (not "tux") logo of Linux sort of comes from Australia, due to a visit at the zoo. █
