Taiwan is Voting Out Microsoft (Which Censors Search Results for the Communist Party of China)
THIS past year we mentioned in passing that GNU/Linux's share on desktops/laptops in Taiwan [1, 2] had grown to a level much higher than the international average. Was that because many of the native workers are highly technical? Or maybe the industry they are in? The nature of their employment perhaps?
Remember where EEE PC came from (with GNU/Linux preloaded as early as 15 years ago). Yes, Taiwan.
Today, after the election in Taiwan, we decided to look and decide how well Bing fared when all this chatbot nonsense* started and where it stands now. Have a look: (narrower and more relevant period/range)
So Microsoft is down from over 3% to 2% after a year of "Google is doomed" media spam (that became a joke or an Internet meme), obsessing about worthless chatbots that mostly lie/fabricate, i.e. fail to function as advertised by Microsoft.
Microsoft isn't a valuable company. It's a company whose debt is surging and staff is being laid off in droves. Its financial 'results' are a fraud, i.e. a crime. █
_____
* "Bing Chat", nowadays rebranded ad infinitum for a failed adoption loop (they keep re-announcing things when they fail really badly in the prior iteration). After about 5 re-announcements and/or rebrands they finally give up, like they did with Windows Mobile/Windows Phone.
