The Software Freedom Law Center's Eben Moglen Explains That We Already Had Free Software Almost Everywhere Before (Half a Century Ago)
The Software Freedom Law Center's Eben Moglen
Cropped out of a much longer clip (original available via Invidious gateways [1, 2, 3]) is this relatively concise background information on how code was shared in the 1970s and 80s. The interview predates the imposter organisation that sought to mimic the SFLC with an almost identical name (hence the belated lawsuit). This is the SFLC's chief. He tells a similar story in other interviews, but this edited version is of a higher quality.
Professor Moglen explains that some old the older-generation "hackers" are already familiar with and accustomed to software freedom, which was taken away to create monopolies and locked down interfaces some time in the 80s. The current goal, which merits no significant compromises to be reached, is to restore software freedom. █
