In the US, Microsoft's Market in Search Has Decreased (But in Reality It's Even Worse)
"Lies, damned lies, and statistics"
--Benjamin Disraeli
THIS past year there were loads of Bing layoffs, which we habitually wrote about. The media totally missed this story (except very rarely) even when entire offices were shut down or sometimes relocated to another site with decreased occupancy/capacity. Bing was subjected to very deep staff cuts; those people were made redundant not due to buzzwords like "Hey Hi" (AI) but severe budgetary deficits.
Earlier this month Microsoft started rebranding again (read as, not solving the real issue). They recycle another dying brand ("Copilot", loads in losses too) because "Bing Chat" is a zombie nobody bothers with and paying (bribing) the media to make "buzz" (hype) about it means further losses. As we'll show in the next article, "marketing expenditures" on Wikipedia (bribes basically) are better "bang for the buck".
Some news sites have begun noting the trend. It seems like they read Techrights, but you can never prove it... █
